The Civil Society Forum will convene in Da Nang Viet Nam on June 26, 2018 on the day preceding the Sixth Assembly of the GEF.
The Civil Society Forum will be a unique opportunity to highlight the crucial role that civil society plays in positively influencing the future of the global environment and contributing to the implementation of the Programming and Policy Directions of GEF-7. In addition to the Forum, there will be a range of activities during the Assembly where civil society and Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLC) will be actively engaged, including exhibitions, side events and visits to GEF projects in Vietnam. Prior to the Civil Society Forum, the 54th GEF Council meeting will convene on Sunday, June 24 and Monday, June 25th.
This year the Forum's overarching theme is "Partnerships for Transformative Change: Civil Society’s Contribution to Transforming Systems to Safeguard the Future of Our planet."
The GEF will be able to sponsor a limited number of civil society and IPLC representatives from developing countries, following the approved criteria.
Please note that the deadline for GEF-sponsored applications is March 31, 2018.
Those CSOs and IPLC selected for sponsorship will be notified 2 weeks following the closing of applications.
Other CSOs and IPLC not seeking financial support are welcome to submit their application and registration by May 15th, 2018. The confirmation of registration for self-sponsored participants will be made by May 31st, 2018.
