Scientific and Technical Advisory Panel (STAP) Meeting
Everyone is welcome to attend the STAP Meeting. The event provides an opportunity to learn more and discuss some of the STAP papers for the Assembly, which include:
- The science of integrated approaches
- Environmental security
- Circular economy and sustainable food
- Circular economy and plastics
- Novel entities
The meetings provide an opportunity to share information, views and obtain feedback from members of the constituency on issues related to the Council’s agenda and beyond. The meeting also aims to review country and constituency coordination issues, to enhance communication and outreach efforts, to decide upon constituency governance issues, such as the order in which countries will assume Council Member and Alternate seats (rotation agreements), participation in replenishment process and discuss implementation of the GEF projects and share lessons learned. 24th LDCF/SCCF Council Meeting
The 24th LDCF/SCCF Council Meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2018. Click here for additional information.
This year the Forum's overarching theme is "Partnerships for Transformative Change: Civil Society’s Contribution to Transforming Systems to Safeguard the Future of Our Planet." The Civil Society Forum is a unique opportunity to highlight the crucial role that civil society plays in positively influencing the future of the global environment and contributing to the implementation of the Programming and Policy Directions of GEF-7. In addition to the Forum, there will be a range of activities during the Assembly where civil society and Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLC) will be actively engaged, including exhibitions, side events and visits to GEF projects in Vietnam. Sixth GEF Assembly
Held every four years, the Assembly is the GEF’s highest governing body and gathers representatives of all its 183-member countries, implementing agencies, conventions, civil society organizations and indigenous peoples, academia, and business leaders to celebrate past achievements and the launch of its seventh replenishment cycle (GEF-7). The event is a rare chance to share knowledge, ideas and solutions to some of the world’s most pressing environmental issues. Click here for more information.
