National Biodiversity Strategy, Action Plan and Country Report to the COP
Project Summary
The Biodiversity Enabling Activity for Gabon will assist the Directorate General of the Environment in the Ministry of Planning, Environment and Tourism (MPET) in developing a National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (BSAP). The BSAP will build on and reinforce other existing national strategies and plans, particularly the National Environmental Action Plan (NEAP), which is under formulation. Also the project will allow the Republic of Gabon to meet its obligations under the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) by assisting the preparation of its first Country Report to the Conference of Parties (COP) in 1998.
