National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan and Country Report to the CBD

This 15 month Enabling Activity will assist the Islamic Republic of Iran to develop a National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (BSAP). Through a participatory process emphasizing workshops and consultations, this project will identify priorities for biodiversity conservation and sustainable use and will elaborate strategies and actions to attain these priorities. The BSAP will build on and reinforce other national strategies and plans such as the National Development Plan and National Environment Strategy. In addition, this project will allow the Islamic Republic of Iran to meet its obligations under the Conservation on Biological Diversity (CBD) in the preparation of its first Country Report to the Conference of the Parties (COP) of the CBD.
