Enabling Activities to Facilitate Early Action on the Implementation of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants in Gabon
Project Summary
The objective of this Enabling Activities proposal is to build and strengthen national capacity and to enhance knowledge and understanding amongst decision makers, industrialists, NGOs and the general population on POPs. This will lead to the preparation of a National Implementation Plan (NIP) for the Stockholm Convention on POPs, and endorsement by all stakeholders in Gabon. By achieving this objective, Gabon will be in a position to manage the reduction and elimination of POPs and to fulfil the Stockholm Convention reporting and other obligations.
