Initial Assistance to Enable Suriname to Fulfill its Obligations Under the Stockholm Convention on POPs

Project Summary

The objective of the project is to identify means to support Suriname‘s own sustained capacity to fulfill its obligations in the context of the Stockholm Convention, including the preparation of a National Implementation Plan focused on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs), that will more widely cover aspects important to the safe and environmentally sound management of chemicals and wastes, as called for in Chapters 19 and 20 of Agenda 21.
