Additional Funding of Biodiversity Enabling Activity
Project Summary
The overall objective of the Clearing House Mechanism is to increase public awareness of biodiversity issues, which ultimately leads to effective and sound decision-makings of the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity at all levels. From the time Fiji became a partly to the CBD, information dissemination was carried out on an ad hoc basis with no formal mechanism in place to ensure all relevant stakeholders receive this information through a centralized CHM, filtering this information right down to the grassroots levels promoting a better understanding of biodiversity and in particular the programmes and obligations set out under the CBD.
