LDC/SIDS Portfolio Project: Sustainable Land Management in Comoros
Project Summary
In line with the National Poverty Reduction Strategy (SCRP), the purpose of the project is to contribute to the development of a national programme on rehabilitation and sustainable management of soil and forest resources. The project has a strong poverty alleviation focus and will be based on a human rights and gender equality approach. The project goal therefore is: SLM adoption improves management of forests and land, enhancing ecosystems’ ability to deliver goods and services to the environment and the people and improve livelihoodsProject objective:To strengthen capacities at Union and local levels for enhanced sustainable land and forest management.
