Instrument for the Establishment of the Restructured GEF (2019)
This publication contains the text of the Instrument for the Establishment of the Restructured GEF, as amended by the Second, Third, Fourth and Fifth GEF Assemblies. The publication also includes the decisions of the governing bodies of the three Implementing Agencies approving the Instrument and its amendments. The publication includes the resolutions adopted by the IBRD Executive Directors approving the second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh replenishments of the GEF Trust Fund in 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018 respectively. Finally, the publication concludes with a section on Updated Commitments to the GEF Trust Fund by Contributing Participants.
Financing Adaptation to Climate Change at the GEF
The GEF supports adaptation to climate change in developing countries through the Least Developed Countries Fund (LDCF), which supports urgent, medium and long-term adaptation needs in least developed countries (LDCs), and the Special Climate Change Fund (SCCF), accessible by all developing countries. Established in 2001 at United Nations Climate Change Conference COP7, the two funds also support implementation of the Paris Agreement.
